Squirrel Writer (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard data when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate your account:

  • - Your name and email address, provided through Google sign-in authentication.
  • - Access to your Google Drive within the app-specific folder or designated project folder that you authorize. This allows the app to store and sync your writing projects.
We do not access or store the contents of your writing projects outside this authorized folder, and no project data is stored on Squirrel Writer’s own servers.

2. How We Use Information
We use your information solely to:

  • - Authenticate your account and manage your subscription tier.
  • - Sync your writing projects to your Google Drive.
  • - Communicate with you regarding updates, support, or policy changes.

3. Personal Data Storage and Security
Minimal account information (name, email, and subscription data) is stored securely on Google Cloud services. All communication with our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. We never sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for any purpose. You can request your data be permanently deleted from our servers at any time.

4. Story Data Privacy
None of your story data is stored on or visible to our servers. All content entered by you is stored securely on your Google Drive.

5. Google Drive Permissions
Squirrel Writer uses limited Google OAuth scopes to access only files and folders that you explicitly authorize. The app cannot view or modify unrelated Drive files. You can revoke Drive access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

6. AI Services
When using AI features, text or prompts you provide may be sent to external APIs (such as Google Gemini) for processing. These prompts are handled transiently and are not retained by Squirrel Writer.

7. Payment Servicess
All payment data, if applicable, is processed securely through Stripe and never stored by us.

8. Your Control and Data Deletion
You may delete your Squirrel Writer account at any time by revoking its app permissions in your Google account. Your writing projects will remain safely in your Google Drive, but without an active Squirrel Writer account, your project data will only be accessible in its raw format. Consider exporting before deleting a project. You can request your data be permanently deleted from our servers at any time.

9. Children’s Privacy
Squirrel Writer is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If significant changes occur, we will notify you by in-app notice.
